Garden volunteer
We are looking for garden volunteers to support with our 6.5 acres of grounds at
Bluebell Wood.
Below are outlined a range of roles:
• General maintenance of the garden, weeding etc.
• Planting and watering
• Assisting with garden projects
• Maintaining garden furniture
Please be aware that if you do not have your own transport, or live locally, the
hospice is very difficult to get to by public transport. If in doubt, please check buses
etc to see if it is possible for you to volunteer here. We are over one mile from the
nearest bus stop.
Number of volunteers wanted: 4
We are looking for volunteers who:
• Have a few hours to spare each week or fortnightly.
• Have gardening experience
• Are friendly
• Are willing to be part of a team
• Have good communication skills as you will meet our families as they use the
garden spaces
• Are respectful of families, staff, fellow volunteers and visitors

We're looking for volunteers available on a Thursday from 10AM to 2PM.
Access from car park to ground floor.
- Disabled toilet facilities downstairs and upstairs
- A lift to the 1st floor
- A risk assessment would be carried out to ensure a safe environment can be
provided
- There is some mandatory E-learning required for this role.
- Support and guidance from Volunteer Supervisor.
- All Bluebell Wood hospice volunteers are invited to a staff and volunteers induction
day that runs quarterly.
